Phil Ivey, whom many consider to be the best poker player in the world, came into today’s 2007 Mirage Poker Showdown final table as the chip leader looking to capture his first WPT title. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be…Here is the hand:
Hand 55: Phil Ivey Eliminated in Fifth Place ($129,684)
Hand 55: Jonathan Little bets $120,000 and Phil Ivey calls. The flop comes 883 and both players check. The J hits on the turn and Little bets $150,000. Ivey moves all in and Little calls. Ivey shows Q2 and Little shows A8. The river cards is the A and Ivey is eliminated in fifth place.
Ivey moved in with his queen high flush and Little called with his set of 8s on the turn and hit a miracle ace to fill up and knock Phil Ivey out of the tournament in 5th place…
