Jerry Yang Wins Main Event
Jul 18th, 2007 by Mark Scalia

It was certainly Jerry Yang’s night. He came out firing from the start of the final table and went on to eliminate all but two of the players himself to capture the most prestigious title in poker. Yang went heads up against Tuan Lam with a gigantic 117,425,000 to 10,050,000 chip lead. In the final hand Tuan Lam moved in with Ad-Qd and was called my Jerry Yang’s pocket 8s. Things looked good on the flop for Lam when it came Qc-9c-5s. But the turn came a 7d giving Yang some additional outs with a straight draw which he made on the river with the 6h.
